Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA)

1.     Introduction

This manual has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) (hereinafter referred to as “PAIA”). The purpose of this manual is to assist individuals and entities in understanding their rights and procedures for accessing information held by Morgan Solus, a provider of Business Continuity Management (BCM) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

3.     Overview of Morgan Solus

Morgan Solus is a provider of BCM Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. Our platform enables organisations to manage and enhance their business continuity planning and disaster recovery efforts efficiently. As part of our service, we may collect and process data on behalf of our clients.

4.     Description of Records Held

As a provider of BCM SaaS platform, Morgan Solus may hold various records, including but not limited to:

  • Client account information
  • Business continuity plans and strategies
  • Data backups and recovery procedures
  • Technical support records
  • Marketing and communications materials

5.     Access to Information Procedures

5.1.  Request Procedures

Individuals or entities seeking access to information held by Morgan Solus may submit a written request in the prescribed forms (Personal Information Request  and POPIA Complaint Form) to the designated Information Officer. Requests must include the requester’s contact details, a description of the information requested, and any other relevant details.

5.2.  Processing of Requests

Upon receiving a request, Morgan Solus will process it within the timelines prescribed by PAIA. This may involve consulting with relevant stakeholders and assessing whether any exemptions or limitations apply to the requested information.

5.3.  Fees

A fee may be charged for processing a request, as permitted by PAIA. The fee structure will be provided upon request.
